The Projected Inventory Demand report shows the materials needed to produce the batches that are scheduled for production. Any batch that has been fully planned and has not finished production will be included. The data includes materials from batches that may be in progress and may include mixed ingredients.
The report is listed under the Dashboard on the Reports tab in the Production section.
Report Columns
SKU | Catalog SKU, links to filtered inventory record for the SKU
Name | Catalog name | |||
Type | SKU type | |||
Batches | Count of batches using the SKU data source: Production Batches
Actual Ful. | Actual Fulfillment Total The amount being used in production when taking into account actual yield and estimated overages for the batch. data source: Production MBR constituents
Baseline Ful. | Baseline Fulfillment Total The amount required to produce the batches as calculated by the formula and batch size. data source: Production MBR constituents
Overage | Intentional Overages Total The total amount of Intentional Overages entered for this SKU. data source: Production MBR constituents
Ful. Unit | Unit of measure for Actual Fulfillment, Baseline Fulfillment, Overage data source: Production MBR constituents
In Stock | Amount of product in stock, converted to the same type of unit as fulfillment. data source: Inventory Lots
In Unit | Unit of measure for in stock amount. If the in stock unit differs from the fulfillment unit it will show the original unit followed by the fulfillment unit.
Short | Amount needed to complete production base on what is currently in stock.
On Order | How much product is still on order that has not been received.
Ord Unit | Unit of measure for ordered amount. If the on order unit differs from the fulfillment unit it will show the original unit followed by the fulfillment unit.
Short On Ord | How much product is still needed considering in stock inventory and orders yet to be received.
Allocated | Allocated Total The amount already allocated. data source: Production Allocation Associations
Allocated Unit | Unit of measure for allocations If the allocated unit differs from the fulfillment unit it will show the original unit followed by the fulfillment unit. data source: Production Allocation Associations |
Exception Markings
Actual Fulfillment Not Equal Baseline Fulfillment
The actual and baseline fulfillment entries will be highlighted when they do not match.
Baseline Fulfillment is the original amount calculated by the formula x the batch size.
Actual Fulfillment is the formula x the batch size PLUS adjustments made my actual yield (output during production was higher/lower than anticipated) or estimated overages (pre-planned under/over amount for the batch).
This indicates that some of the batches that consume the SKU have a baseline calculation of the amount needed that has been modified by either actual yield or estimated overages.
Actual Fulfillment Less Than Baseline
If the actual fulfillment amount is less than the baseline amount the actual fulfillment entry is set in bold red text.
This can happen if actual yield is less than the projected amount originally calculated when planning the batch.
Insufficient In Stock Inventory
If the actual fulfillment amount required to complete production is more than what is currently in stock, the short column will show the amount needed and be highlighted.
Insufficient On Order Amount
If the amount in stock + the amount on order is not enough to cover the actual fulfillment amount the amount needed is shown in the Short On Ord column and is highlighted.
Quantity and Unit Conversions
In order to calculate shortages on in stock or ordered inventory the amount needed to fulfill the planned production demands must be converted to a consistent unit.
If the batch calls for 9,000 milligrams (mg) of an ingredient, the amount in stock may need to be converted from grams (g) or kilograms (kg) to milligrams before calculating the difference.
When a stock, on order, or allocated amount has been converted from one unit to another, the units column will show the original unit that was recorded followed by an arrow and the new unit it was converted to in order to perform the calculation.
